Flatbush Food Co-Op began operations in 1978 on East 16th Street, a dead end near the Avenue H station in Fiske Terrace. In 1985 it moved to 1318 Cortelyou Road and for a few years there, retained the name “16th Street Food Co-Op.” In 2008 it moved diagonally across the street to 1415 Cortelyou, replacing an Associated Supermarket that had once been a Bohack Supermarket in the 1950s.
