FDC’s after-school programs are a vital resource for hundreds of children in Flatbush, providing them with a safe, enriching environment that nurtures their growth in various key areas. Our kids have the opportunity to improve important skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, all while receiving educational support that strengthens their academic performance.
Beyond academics, the program fosters creative and artistic expression, offering classes in visual arts, and music, encouraging our kids’ imagination, and boost their confidence. Our sports activities promote health and fitness, instilling lifelong habits for a balanced lifestyle.
Additionally, the program introduces children to practical life skills like cooking and fashion, allowing them to explore different interests and develop competencies that go beyond the classroom. This well-rounded approach ensures that children not only receive the academic help they need but also grow into well-rounded individuals ready to excel in various aspects of life.

Our Impact
FDC’s after-school programs offer a variety of tracks to the kids, serving over 500 children in a fun and nurturing environment where they learn lifelong lessons, build friendships, and grow. Our programs provide valuable opportunities for children to develop emotional regulation skills and foster a sense of community through volunteering.
We offer a wide range of educational support, including in-depth STEM learning, literacy programs, test preparation, and after-school homework help. To keep things fun and engaging, we also provide activities such as gym, dance, and basketball. Some of our locations feature girls-only and boys-only group meetings, offering a tailored experience for personal growth.
Our arts programs include art-making, fashion design, and music, while other locations focus on practical life skills like cooking and food preparation. We also host community backpack giveaways, ensuring that kids have the resources they need to succeed.
