ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Personnelย  reports directly to the Cornerstone Program Director and will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and cleanliness of the Cornerstone center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:ย 

  • Receives verbal or written repair and maintenance requests from the Program Director or Assistant Program Director and responds in a timely manner.

  • Performs work according to standard procedure and by the center’s operational schedule.

  • Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, supply rooms, offices, stairways, windows and outside grounds as needed.

  • Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip and wax floors.

  • Uses vacuum cleaners to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and blinds.

  • Dusts furniture and equipment.

  • Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.

  • Minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.

  • Performs touch up and finishes painting.

  • Empties wastebaskets.

  • Replenishes restroom supplies and cleans restrooms.

  • Replaces light bulbs.

  • Sets up/Break down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms.

  • Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.

  • Reports work accomplished orally or in written work order to PD or AD.

  • Maintains supply inventory list and communications with PD or AD with items that need to be replenished.

  • Maintains an organized closet and storage workspaces.

  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

  • Must demonstrate timeliness, attendance and most importantly, professionalism.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed oral or written instructions.

  • Ability to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.

  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Candidates must be very responsible, organized & demonstrate positive communication skills.ย ย 

  • The ideal candidate is personable, energetic, & enthusiastic.ย ย 

  • Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with all staff and participants while always remaining professional.
